New comics not arriving until THURSDAY this week due to the Monday holiday. *sigh*

Kind of a big week for me. 8 floppies, 1 graphic novel, and a Previews catalog. I am most looking forward to Jan's Atomic Heart and Rapture #1. I read an advance review of Jan's Atomic Heart and it sounded very good. I know absolutely nothing about Rapture #1 except that it is a Michael Oeming creation. I have not read anything he has written, but I love love love love his art in Powers. That's enough to get me pretty excited about that book. A lot more excited than I am about another Spider-Man comic anyway ;-)

Okay, LOTS to look forward to reading this week! Wow! First off, Kick Ass #6. If it hadn't been 4 months since an issue came out, I would be even more excited. I'll have to dig out my back issues and refresh myself of where we are. But, I am very excited about a new Mark Millar & John Romita Jr. issue! Good stuff always there! Next is Viking #1. Heard lots of good things about this and it looks to be very different. I am really looking forward to checking it out finally and seeing what it's about. Warren Ellis's latest project, Ignition City, is another one to look forward to. I really enjoyed the first issue and unlike Kick Ass, Ignition City #1 only came out 2 weeks ago, so the story is fresh in my mind! Imagine that! Neil Gaiman's part 2 of his Batman story comes out this week also in Detective Comics #853. I wonder if there is an Alex Ross variant for this issue as well... does anyone know?

Small week. Exciting though. I haven't read an Amazing Spider-Man issue since December 17th. For a comic that comes out 3 times monthly, that's a long time ;-) Hellboy Wild Hunt left with a cliffhanger ending, so I can't wait to see what happens next. X-Men Noir #1 was good, it will be fun to see where they go next with the story.

Kick-Ass was not on the original shipping list, it was added after I made my list. I heard about Incognito after Monday as well. Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips? Yes, I must read. And then Superman and Avengers Invaders had Alex Ross covers. I'm a sucker for Alex Ross art. I know it's silly to buy a comic that I probably will not read solely for the cover, but... it's Alex Ross! The Wizard magazine is featuring the Watchmen movie and I'm soaking up as much as I can about that, so I did it... I purchased my first Wizard magazine. The Queen and Country book was one I'd been meaning to pick up. I like Greg Rucka and I've heard great things about the book.

And now I sit down and read until my eyes bleed. Good thing tomorrow is Saturday, I have WAY too much to try and read in one night. I'll be lucky to have these all read before next new comic book day! I'll try and post reviews of what I read, but I don't think I'm a very good review writer.

It's been a month since Marvels Eye of the Camera #1 came out and I can't wait! The first one was great and I want to keep reading =o)  If Batman Cacophony doesn't get better in this issue, I'll have to drop it. Kevin Smith does good with movies, but I'm not sure comics are right for him. Maybe this issue will turn it around for me, I don't know. But I was not impressed at all with issue #1. My wife will be excited to hear that the Warcraft comics are coming out. I can't read them - they are terrible. But, my wife likes them, so I buy them =o)

Runaways has been fun and it's Terry Moore writing. Thor is still really good. The others should be good too, I'm just more excited about the ones mentioned =o)

I'm really looking forward to this Wormwood one-shot! Over the last several months I've become of big fan of Ben Templesmith's work. I'm also really looking forward to Spider-Man Noir. I don't know if it is the same creative team as X-Men Noir, but I can't wait to check it out. Spider-Man, Madman, and Thor are always fun books. Looks like a small but great week =o)

There is a lot to look forward to this week. Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane has been an incredible series. Sadly, this is the last issue. Terry Moore has been exceptional writing it. I can't wait to read this final issue and then go back and re-read all 5 issues again. I have my doubts as to whether Echo will really come out this week. The last two times it's been on the shipping list, we get it a week later (at least the West Coast). Besides, two Terry Moore books in one week? That is just madness! Too good to be true =o)

I have not read the first Buckaroo Bonzai: The Prequel issue yet. I have been waiting for both issues to be out so I can read them back to back. This week I get to do that. I'm a pretty big fan of Buckaroo Bonzai the movie, so I have high hopes for the comic =o)

Update: I decided that I'll read Invincible and Gen13 in trade paperback form - thus the Xing of them off the list

Due to last week's holiday, Diamond shipped books a day late this week. It's a cruel trick to show up to your local comic shop on Wednesday and be told that new books don't arrive until tomorrow. Ouch. Been there. Not fun.

I cut my monthly subscription down a lot, but I should edit it down even more.
